William "Bill" Noel Colp

William “Bill” Noel Colp, 75, was born on January 31, 1948 and passed away on September 6, 2023 after a brief illness at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
He loved fishing, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and bowling when he was younger.
Mr. Colp graduated from Waukegan Township High School in Waukegan, Illinois on June 8, 1967. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy –serving from 1968-1970 and ending his service with an honorable discharge. He worked for Abbott Laboratories in the research and development department from October of 1966 until he retired in May of 2000. His retirement years were spent in Mississippi where he was enjoying his grandchildren, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with his wife.
William Colp is survived by his wife of 35 years, Brenda Horn Colp, his son, Brett (Shannon) Colp, his daughter, Sheri (Ben) Inman, four grandchildren, Ian and Ethan Colp, Alexandra (Allie) and Liam Inman; five sisters, Barb (Olen) Paulson, Patsy Olsen, Mary Johnson (Andy), Carol (Al) McCormick, Suzan (Chris) Arnold, two sister-in-laws Pat Gibbs and Judy Gibbs. Special family members, his niece and her husband (Diana) Rickey Stanley, Cousins (Tom) Sandy Pasiewicz, brother-in-law Charlie Crow, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends Scott (Pam) Davidson, and (Jennifer) Mike Beasley.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Colp; his mother, Josephine Rose Pasiewicz Colp; his brothers, Willard and Chester Gibbs; his sisters Joanne Gibbs and Ruth Ann Gibbs Mitchell; brother-in-laws, Billy Mitchell, Sr. and Bob Olsen.
A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2023 at the Moose Lodge in Zion, Illinois at 1:00 p.m. A future memorial service will be held in Mississippi at a later date to be determined.
