Thomas Julius Burcham (81) of Rienzi, MS. went home peacefully to be with the Lord on June 29, 2024. He was born February 12, 1943, to the late Julius and Ida Mae Burcham.
A service to celebrate the life of Thomas will be held Wednesday July 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Steve Rorie officiating. The service will be at Kesler Funeral home, Booneville Chapel, with burial to follow at Jacinto Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until service time.
Thomas was passionate and determined to overcome challenges and defy the odds. At the age of 23, he discovered long haul trucking and found his passion and freedom traveling cross country. He was a dedicated and diligent worker. Later in life, he enjoyed security positions at a variety of events such as football games, festivals and concerts.
Mr. Burcham enjoyed hosting a Christian radio program for over 20 years. He also loved fishing, playing his guitar, writing songs, and being busy around his house. One of his favorite roles was being a fun loving PaPaw to his grandsons.
Thomas loved God and believed there would come a day he would fly away to be with Jesus. In the past few months of his life, he treasured 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Rejoice always, Pray continually and Give thanks in all circumstances. Despite challenges to fit social norms, he never allowed Asperger's to define who God created him to become.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother: Robert Williams and a Sister: Kathy Hall (Mathis). Left to forever cherish his memory are his daughter Laura Fabianek (Jason), grandsons Joshua and Noah, Sisters Sue Davis (Wade) and Norma Jean Morgan (Gary), brother Virgil Burcham (Barbara), fishing buddy Rayland Williams and lifelong friend / neighbor Chad Taylor.
