Theron Stanley "Stan" Pounds

Theron Stanley "Stan" Pounds (76) passed away Monday, March 3, 2025. He was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ where he was a former deacon and Bible class teacher. He was a retired rural letter carrier. He was a graduate of Booneville High School, and he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College, Mississippi State University, and the University of Memphis.

Stan enjoyed fishing, hunting, yard work, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family and friends.

Services are 3 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Doug Greenway and Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Thursday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Stan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilda Pounds; his sons, Evan Pounds (Tori) and Jason Walden (Sara); his grandchildren, Parker, Miller, Miles, Hannah, Aidan, McKenzie and Emmett; his brother, Jim Pounds (Susan); his mother-in-law, Julius Lee Wales and his nieces and nephews, Hayden & Maria Hughes, Seth & Maggie Pounds, Kala & Lee LeGrand, Ames Hughes, Townes Hughes, Jackson Pounds, George Pounds, Tays LeGrand and Tucker LeGrand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron & Lucille Pounds; his sister, Saundra Pounds Smith; his father-in-law, Roy Morris and his sister-in-law, Sandy Arnold.

Pallbearers are Bob Maddox, Roger Rhodes, Jimmy Deaton, John Gardner, Randy Moore and Randy Stutts.
