Tammy Thornton

Tammy Thornton (55) passed away Monday, February 2, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a graduate of East Union High School Class of 1988 where she found her passion for basketball. In addition to basketball, Tammy loved doing arts & crafts, writing letters, talking on the phone and she truly loved to help others.

Services are 12 pm Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Camp Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Higgins officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-12 Saturday at Camp Creek Baptist Church.

Tammy is survived by her daughter, Amber Casarez (Ruben) of TX; her sisters, Deanna Fowler (Dewayne) of Blue Springs, Sonja Nichols (Chad) of Blue Springs and Leasha Watson (Terry) of Saltillo; her brothers, David Baker (Donna) of Guntown, Joel Baker of Saltillo and Barry Baker of Booneville; her fiance, Terry Loden of Blue Springs and her grandchildren, Talon and Amaya.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Thornton; her mother, Joy Thornton; her step-mother, Betty Thornton and her grandparents, Raymond & Hazel Thornton.
