Shirley Jean (Thomas) McCoy

Shirley Jean Thomas McCoy (84) went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025. She was born on September 9, 1941 to the late Clarence and Claudia Thomas. She was the widow of the late Ernest R. "Pete" McCoy and together they had 2 children, 6 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Miss Shirley loved serving her Lord and Savior at Fairview Baptist Church in Booneville. Her two favorite ways to serve were to worship Him in song and to feed the flock at church dinners and fellowships. Food was Miss Shirley's love language. If one was in her house for more than two minutes, then an offer of food had already been made. She loved her family and was never more happy than when her house was full at family get-togethers.

She loved traveling and camping and would happily take a trip at a moment's notice as long as there was an understanding that laughter and shenanigans were sure to be prominent features of the journey.

Services are 3 pm Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Fairview Baptist Church with her son, Bro. Mark McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Sunday at Fairview Baptist Church.

Miss Shirley is survived by her son, Mark McCoy (Michelle); her daughter, Sheryl Tuttle (Jeff); her beloved grandchildren, Josh McCoy (Frankie), Jake McCoy (Erica), Lynnette Berry (Brandon), Bryan Tuttle (Danielle), Stephanie Fulleborn (David) and Stacy Nelms (Tyler) and 14 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers are Josh McCoy, Jake McCoy, Bryan Tuttle, Brandon Berry, Tyler Nelms and Bo Russell.
