Santana LaShay Young Friar

Santana LaShay Young Friar, a 37-year-old resident of Booneville, MS, passed away on October 6, 2025. Born in Tupelo, MS on October 7, 1987, to the late Henry C. Whiteside and Sandra Young, Santana was distinguished by her warm hugs and profound love for her family. Her remarkable sense of humor brought laughter and joy to those around her.

Santana's interest included cooking, cleaning, and shopping. As a devoted member of Faith Harvest Church in Booneville, MS, her greatest passion was reading and quoting Bible scriptures.

Memorial services will be 6 pm Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 5-6 pm Thursday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Santana is survived by her husband of 15 years, Willard Ray Friar; her two daughters, Chasniya LaShay Young and Diamond Cierra Monique Sullivan, both of Booneville; her two sisters, Jackie Whiteside of Memphis, TN and Peggy Whiteside of Tupelo and a host of family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandra Young & Henry C. Whiteside; her grandparents, Lucain & Maudine Whiteside, Lee Earnest and Irmadell Young and her motherly Aunt Betty Nabors.
