Robert Lester Poole (63) passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026 at his home in Rienzi. He was born on May 8, 1962 in DeLand, FL. He attended Jesus Name Apostolic Church. He was a former employee at Sunshine Orange Juice Company in FL.
Robert loved the color blue. He enjoyed thrifting at yard sales, flea markets, and shops like Goodwill and Salvation Army, and took pride in collecting Coca-Cola and John Deere memorabilia. He loved listening to the Huggins family ministry and sing gospel music, playing games on his phone, and taking relaxing drivers around town. He especially loved breakfast at The Pit Stop in Corinth, his favorite place to start the day. His favorite stops also included New Chine, Checkers, and Burger King. He had a generous heart and was always willing to help others. He was known for his playful saying, "Do I got you trained yet?" followed by a laugh.
Robert was a kind and cheerful man who truly never met a stranger. He enjoyed attending church, listening to his Bible app, and hearing Sister Jennifer Roach sing his favorite songs, "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord" and Carry Me, Jesus." He also loved listening to the sermons of evangelist Danny Huggins and cared deeply for the Huggins family.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his friends, whether socializing in person or playing Coin Master on his phone. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Christy Turner. He had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved chihuahua, Coco, who passed before him and held a very special place in his heart. Robert was widowed by his beloved wife, Linda. Known for his humor and his ability to cheer people up, Robert brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
-Final words in honor of Robert by his closest friend, Christy Turner.
"Robert, from the very beginning we promised each other a friendship that would last a lifetime... a bond unbroken, steadfast, and true. We said we would stand side by side through anything, never turning our backs on one another, no matter what came our way. And we did just that. You were my best friend to the very end, and that promise will live on in my heart always."
A special thank you to Mary Bonds, Danny Huggins, Christy Turner, and Mary Turner for carrying out Mr. Robert Poole's final wishes.
Private services will be held at a later date.
