Rhonda Eloise Ballard

Life began on this earth for Rhonda Eloise Downs on March 20, 1958 and ended on November 4, 2024 when she entered her heavenly home. She was born to Ed and Oneda Downs and grew up surrounded by loving family and friends in the Pisgah Community. She married Keith Ballard in 1976, and they built a life for themselves and their two sons Chad and Bryan. Rhonda worked at Prentiss Mfg. in Jumpertown before going to work for Mississippi Action for Progress (the Headstart program) at their Corinth and Pisgah centers where she taught and inspired many children during her twenty-plus years of service. She was a faithful member of Thrasher Baptist Church.

Services are 1 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Thrasher Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Evetts and Bro. Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 Thursday at Thrasher Baptist Church.

Rhonda is survived by her sons, Chad Ballard (Amanda) and Bryan Ballard; her grandchildren, Luke, Laurie, Levi, Addie-Grace, and Madelyn Ballard; her brothers, Stanley and Randy Downs and a host of nieces, nephews, extended and church family and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Oneda Davis Downs, and her husband, Keith Ballard.

Pallbearers are Koda Downs, Keith Kelly, Dustin Moore, Tracy Nix, Stacy Shadburn, Jackie Smith and Roger Storey.
