R. Wayne Sappington (92) passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at his home in Booneville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Lion's Club. He worked many years at both Brown Shoe Company and Eaton Paper Company. He was raised on a farm and loved all things pertaining to farming. He had a deep passion for dealing with Volkswagen cars, reading, fishing, telling stories from his days in the Navy and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved having fish fries with his family.
Services are 2 pm Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be 11-2 Wednesday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 27 years, Bobbie Sappington of Booneville; his children, Darlene Stell (Ealon) of Booneville, Steve Nanney (Tammi) of Tupelo and Robbie Lambert (Bobby) of Booneville; his grandchildren, Rhiannon Brooks (Cody), Ehlana Stell, Steven Lambert (Whitney), AJ Lambert (Kristin), Blake Ryan, Beth Robbins (Jacob) and Jessica Nanney and his great grandchildren, Jax Brooks and Rylin, Eva Kate, Gracelyn, Mila, Harper, Archer & Olive Lambert, John Everett Robins, Eden & Annie Robbins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Ivy Sappington; his son, Tim Sappington; his grandchildren, Michelle Lancaster, Amber Lancaster, Zeb Stell and Christian Nanney; his brother, Dr. Millard Sappington and his sister, Ellie Pearl Yates.
