Neta Roper Swiney Spigner (85) passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Courtyard Nursing Home after a long illness. Neta was born November 28, 1938 in Baldwyn, MS to the late Crockett and Della Raburn Roper.
Neta retired after being a hairdresser for 40 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Ozark Methodist Church.
Services are 2 pm Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Warren, Bro. Dean Warren, Bro. Acy Barber and Bro. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-2 Saturday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Neta is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Newton (Jim) and Jean Peters (Trent) of Baldwyn; her step-son, Chris Spigner of Ozark; her grandsons, Jonathan Peters (Chelsea) and Charles Peters (Ashley) both of Baldwyn; her great-grandchildren, Riliegh Richardson, Brooklyn Weis, Kaylee Peters, Bella Russell, Mason Peters, Easton Peters and Shelby Peters all of Baldwyn; the father of her children, Samuel Swiney of Guntown and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Spigner; her daughter, Cynthia Swiney; her brothers, Clinton and Lowell Roper and her sister, Virginia Warren.
Pallbearers are Jonathan Peters, Charles Peters, David Brown, Ronald Wesson, Randy Lindsey and Steve Newby.
Honorary pallbearers Pat Brown, Carlene Spigner and Joyce Spigner.
