Mickey Ray DeVaughn

Mickey Ray DeVaughn (72) of Baldwyn, MS, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1953, to Clifton McDuffie and Ruth Clara DeVaughn.

Mickey worked for Wayne and Cecil Griffin's Feed Store in Baldwyn for 15 years before spending more than 20 years with the City of Baldwyn, where he served his community faithfully until his retirement.

Mickey found great joy in the outdoors, especially at the farm. He had a deep love for animals with his favorite being horses. Remembered as being a child at heart, he was happiest when surrounded by family, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life.

Mickey's legacy of kindness, humor, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Mickey is survived by his sisters, Reta Palmer and Corlis Taylor; his nephews, Mitch DeVaughn (Vicky), Mike DeVaughn, Matthew DeVaughn (Melissa), Joey Taylor (Diana), Charles Samples (Jerry Holloway), Donnie Palmer (Rena) and Josh Palmer (Ashley); his nieces, Mitzi Cook (Tom), Darla Adams (Shayne), Connie Murrell, Charlotte Owen, Kim Palmer, Barbara Samples and Brenda Lindley (Mike); along with a host of great nieces/nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Ruth DeVaughn; his brother, Troy DeVaughn; his sister-in-law, Wanda DeVaughn; his sisters, Earline Samples and Dorothy Samples; his nephew, David Palmer and his brothers-in-law, Johnny Taylor and Robert Palmer.
