Martha Elizabeth "Beth" English

Martha Elizabeth "Beth" English was born on March 27th, 1935, and she had her heavenly homecoming on March 16th, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Jo English Jones; her grandchildren, Lori Sims of Iuka and Marcie Whitley McCafferty (Dustin) of Ripley; her great grandchildren, Kaylee Sims Hobson (Aleck), Ruthie McCafferty and Maggie McCafferty; her great great granddaughter, Billie Hobson; her sisters, Sandra Green (Buster) of Wheeler and Francile Davis (Rickie) of Jumpertown; her sisters-in-law, Pat Yates of Booneville and Peggy English (Honnell); her brother-in-law, Larry English (Sally) of Booneville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman English; her parents, Cullen and Lucille Yates; her brothers, Gene Yates (Hazel), Keith Yates (Jettie) and Millard Yates and her son-in-law, Billy Jones.

She was employed at Foot Caress in Ripley for 25 years and Kimberly Clark in Corinth for 12 years. She loved her work families and made many life long friends. Beth was a member of Jumpertown Methodist Church. She enjoyed yard work, traveling, all things Elvis Presley and the company of her two cats. Beth was the family historian. She enjoyed sharing stories about her childhood years working in the fields and spending time with family.

Services are 1 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Jumpertown Methodist Church with Bro. Robert McCoy and Bro. Ronnie Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Jumpertown Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2025 and 11-1 Wednesday at Jumpertown Methodist Church.

Pallbearers are Rickie Davis, Jr., Herbert Yates, Tim Stewart, Monty Gene Yates, Larry English and Kenneth Michael.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jumpertown Methodist Church or Jumpertown Cemetery Fund, 888 Hwy 4 West, Booneville, MS 38829.
