Martha Ann Thornton

Martha Ann Thornton (80) entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was a seamstress at Blue Bell / Redcap for 30 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to anyone that knew her. She would help anyone and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She especially loved spending all her time with her 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her hobbies were gardening with Pops and cooking fish with family and friends. She had the best hushpuppies in the world. She left a lasting impression on everyone of us. She will forever be deeply missed.

Services are 3 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscumbia Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Tuesday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Martha is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harold Thornton; her daughter, Michelle Thornton (Johnny); her brother, Jimmy Thrasher (Sarah); her daughter-in-law, Tammy Thornton; her grandchildren, Cassie Durbin (Chris), DJ Thornton (Erin), Zoe Horn (Dylan), Haley Thornton (Bryson), Hannah Thornton (Brody) and Hagen Thornton (Montana); her great grandchildren, Talon Bizzell, Addy Thornton and Mia Kate Thornton and a host of nieces and nephews that she deeply loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Edna Thrasher; her son, Dean Thornton; her sister, Sue Austin and her brothers, Joe, Ray, Billy & Jerry Thrasher.

Pallbearers are Tim Jones, Jeff Jones, DJ Thornton, Hagen Thornton, Dylan Horn, Talon Bizzell and Brody Parks.

Honorary pallbearers are Scott Rinehart, Phil Rinehart, Hal Cooper, Terry McDonald and James Frank Swinney.
