Marsha Lyn Greenhill Gillentine (69) passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Baldwyn High School in 1973 and then attended Northeast, Ole Miss and graduated with her Bachelor Degree from Blue Mountain. She was a special education teacher at Baldwyn for 32 years. One of her biggest joys was watching her students succeed.
Marsha loved tending to her animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed gardening, cheering for the Ole Miss Rebels, lounging by the pool and being a homemaker for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and school teacher.
Services are 2 pm Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Dr. Chester Wayne Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Marsha is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mike Gillentine of Baldwyn; her sons, William "Pate" Gillentine (Tabitha) of Baldwyn and David "Nick" Gillentine of Baldwyn; her step-daughters, Missi Shoup (David) of Madison and Kimberly Deaton (Chris) of Pontotoc; her brothers, John David Greenhill of Baldwyn and Jack Benny Greenhill (Carolyn) of Baldwyn; her brother-in-law, Garry Poirier; her sisters-in-law, Helen Greenhill and Debbie Duff; her grandchildren, Mason & Jase Gillentine, Cameron & Bailey Shoup, Brice & Mary Margaret Deaton and Lanna Pritchard (David); her great granddaughter, Bailey Pritchard and her nieces and nephews, Tina Greenhill, Speedo Greenhill, Mark Carnes, John Carnes, Dax Wheeler and Tracy McCarley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlen C. & Miriam Randolph Greenhill; her brothers, James Curtis & Richard Arlen Greenhill; her sister, Mary Evelyn Greenhill Poirier; her sister-in-law, Carole McCarley Greenhill; her nephews, Jack Richard Greenhill and Tim McCarley and her beloved friend, Teresa Bolen.
Pallbearers are Speedo Greenhill, Curt Greenhill, Cyle Greenhill, Mark Carnes, John Carnes and James Bullock.
Honorary pallbearers are Jase Gillentine, Mason Gillentine, Titus Majors and Davis Nelson.
