Margaret "Sissy" Settles

Margaret "Sissy" Settles (74) passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of the Hobo High Steppers and was a CNA for many years. She enjoyed drinking tea & smoking cigarettes, talking, cooking, doing word searches, traveling to the mountains and the beach, listening to music and writing poems. She loved playing softball in her younger years. She was a very loving and outgoing person.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Danny Settles; her sons, Jerry Brooks (Heaven) of Benton County, Joe Brooks of Altitude and Bob Settles of MI; her daughter, Reane Brooks (Mack Dixon) of New Site; her adopted daughter, Vicki Bearden her brothers, Terry Mathis (Carolyn) of New Site and Bill Selby (Jan) of Eads, TN; her sister, Barbara Sax of Ripley; her grandchildren, Dakota Brooks, Bobby Lee Settles, Danyela Smith (Scott), Hunter Dixon, Zack Dixon, Harley Bearden and Mackenzie Bearden; her great grandchildren, Jerrmy Smith, Jebadi Lambert, Sawyer Smith, Emma Brooks and Jazlyn Odell and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wardie Dees; her father, Clyde Mathis and her sister, Gail Thrasher.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
