Maggie Sue Hughes (89) passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. She was a member of East Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with her sister in Christ, Flossie Joyner, her dear friends, Joe & Linda Roberts, her church family, neighbors, friends in the community and her loved ones, Ethal Mae Hughes, Ruby Sparks and Ann & Mitzi Blaylock.
Maggie was a homemaker for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Services are 12 pm Friday, September 6, 2024 at East Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Acy Barber and Bro. Toby Mears officiating. Burial will follow in the East Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-12 Friday at East Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Maggie is survived by her sons, Jeff Hughes of Baldwyn and Shane Hughes (Cary) of Baldwyn; her daughters, Debbie Dean of Baldwyn and Pam Westmoreland of Pascagoula; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Max S. Hughes; her son, Mickey Hughes; her parents, Claude & Eunice Boren; her sister, Mona Boren; her infant brother; her sons-in-law, Joe Westmoreland and Matthew "Pops" Dean; her daughter-in-law, Kim Hughes; her great great grandson, Wayne Garrett Green II and her great great granddaughter, Wrenleigh Green.
Pallbearers are Sean Westmoreland, Chad Westmoreland, Neal Tigner, Randy Bearden, Chance Hughes, Dakoda Hughes, Shannon Hughes and Brad Hughes.
All of her other grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
