Lucy Chaffin Scholar

Lucy Chaffin Scholar (93) passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 at her home in Arkabutla. She was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch. She enjoyed playing the piano, cooking, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very kind and loving person.

Services are 1 pm Monday, June 10, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Haskel Sparks and Garner Chaffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 Monday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Lucy is survived by her daughters, Judy Fraser of Arkabutla and Dena Short (Jim) of Germantown; her grandchildren, Jamie Chaffin (Pam), Gary Fraser (Amy), Justin Heberling (Chasen), Ryan Heberling (Rachel), Luke Short and Zellie Short; her great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Abby, Maggie, Wilson Paul, Trey, Kyler, Anna Chase, Edwin, Olivia and Lucy; her great great-grandchildren, Charley Beth, Mia Kate, Kye and Eli; her special niece, Janice Moreland and her special friends, Jason and Kim McNatt & Family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Scholar; her son, Lewis Paul Chaffin; her daughter, Teresa Hemberling and her granddaughter, Mikki Chaffin Mayo.
