Loretta Jean Sipes

Loretta Jean Sipes (78) passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Elk Ridge Lodge in Corinth. She worked in the nursery at the First Presbyterian Church in Corinth for over 30 years and also kept other children for the biggest portion of her life. In addition to babysitting, Loretta also sold insurance. She enjoyed cooking and traveling with her brothers and sisters. Her greatest blessing in life was being able to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her precious great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 pm Thursday, April 7, 2022 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Forked Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Loretta is survived by her son, Reed Sparks of Booneville; her daughters, Michele Braudway (Lanny) of Blackland and Misty Leatherwood (Zach) of TN; her brothers, Jimmy McDougal (Hilda) of Booneville and Tommy McDougal (Tammy) of Booneville; her sisters, Shelia Price of Iuka and Cindy Strickland of Tishomingo; her sister-in-law, Donna McDougal of Booneville; her grandchildren, Tony Sparks, Chris Sparks (Kayla), Rilie Reese, Trace Sparks, Dakota Sparks (Wendy) and Isabella Pike; her great-grandchildren, Adilyn, Harper, Claire and Emma and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sybil McDougal; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sparks; her brothers, Johnny and Sammy McDougal; her sister-in-law, Dorothy McDougal; her brothers-in-law, Dale Price and Tony Strickland and the father of her children, RC Sparks.

Her grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as her pallbearers.
