Lex Crowson (75) was born on February 12, 1950 and passed on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County, where he graduated from New Site High School in 1969, followed by attending Northeast Mississippi Junior College until he was drafted into the Army to serve in the Vietnam War.
Lex spent his professional career in sales and management, which brought him great joy, as he loved meeting people throughout the Northeast Mississippi area.
Lex became a follower of Christ and was baptized at the Booneville Church of Christ on September 12, 1978, after studying with Brother Lee Cole and Brother Milton Floyd.
Lex met the love of his life, Regenia Cartwright, in 1970, and over their 54 years of marriage, they enjoyed raising their three children, along with a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lex is survived by his wife, Regenia Cartwright Crowson; daughters, Angelia Crowson Livingston and Leslie Crowson (Michael Hatfield); and son Charles Crowson-Thomas (Timothy). Grandchildren include Carissa Lewellen Lewis (Nick), Alex Crowson, Ava Zepeda, and Noah Livingston. Great-grandchildren include Blakely, Loxlee, and Presley. Nephews include Ryan Crowson, Adam Uselton, and John Uselton, and niece Dana Uselton. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, James and Lois Davis.
Lex was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Sparks Simmons; stepfather, Charles Simmons; brothers, Roger Crowson and Wayne Simmons; mother-in-law, Eva Langston Cartwright; father-in-law, Leonard "Tootsie" Cartwright; brother-in-law, Jerry Cartwright; and sister-in-law, Sherri Cartwright Uselton (Roger Alexander).
The family will celebrate his passing with a private memorial.
