Larry Gene George

Larry Gene George (74) passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 at his home in Booneville. He attended Booneville High School and graduated from Tupelo's Barber School in the 90's. He faithfully served the Booneville community as a barber for 20+ years, working at Cliff Wilson's Barber Shop and Rick Trout's Corner Barber Shop. He enjoyed playing dominoes and going to yard sales & auctions. He placed 4th place in the World Dominoes Single Championship in 2010.

Services are 3 pm Saturday, October 11, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Dr. Leonard Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, October 10, 2025 and 12-3 Saturday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary Jane George; his children, Desiree George Clark (Tracy Clark), Joshua George (Shelly George), Tammy Hamblin Urness (Terry Urness) and Amy Hamblin Butler (Joey Fiveash); his grandchildren, Trey Doucet (Leigh Doucet), Jade Doucet (Rodney Benoit), Caleb George, Madison "Maddie" George, Britnee Holmes, Bret Holmes (Kali Werner), Billie "Bre" Butler and MaKayla Butler; his great grandchildren, Wesley Doucet, Audree Doucet, Amelia "Millie" Doucet, Addison "Addie" Pacheco, Riley Pacheco and Tristan Pacheco; his siblings, Debbie Gillentine and Ellis Long (Angie Long); his nieces & nephews, Sabrina Pannell (Ricky Pannell), Paige Gillentine, Brittany Long and Brandi Rakestraw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Evelyn Long; his grandparents, Tom & Ramer Wiginton; his great uncle, Dick George; his brother-in-law, Dennis Gillentine and his grandson, Griffin Doucet.

Pallbearers are Joshua George, Caleb George, Trey Doucet, Brett Holmes, Joey Fiveash and Brooks Pratt.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Epperson, Jamie Epperson, Larry Greene, Jimmy Weatherbee, Mackie Barnes, his friends of The Domino Parlor, Rick Trout, Rob Powell, Gordon Whitley, Kevin Jones, Harry Wheeler and Terry Wiginton.
