Kenneth Lewis Vires

Kenneth Lewis Vires (59) passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and tinkering with vehicles. He worked for Prentiss County for 32 years.

Services are 11 am Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. William Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in House of Prayer Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Sue Vires; his daughter, Kayla Summer (Chris); his granddaughter, Sara Summer; his brother-in-law, William Plaxico; his sister-in-law, Anna Mardis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elona Franks; his dad, Robert Vires; his daughters, Suzanne Vires and Amber Vires; his brother-in-law, William Bo Mardis; and his grandmother, Callie Hood.

Pallbearers will be Mark Bullock, Jeremy Burnett, Jason Burnett, Richard "Dick" Kelly, Bobby Smith and Stephen Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Powers, Westley Smith, Jeff Hendrix, William Schaum, Larry Sanders, William  Plaxico, Gary Pounds, Josh Pounds and Rodney Wilmon.
