Kalil Ahmed Daher (64) passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center after a 19 year battle with heart disease on Thursday, February 6, 2020 while surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 25, 1955 in Sidon, Lebanon to Ahmed and Zahia Daher.
Kalil came to the United States to study Computer Science and Engineering in 1978. He met the love of his life, Brenda Lee Daher, in college, and they married on March 29, 1979. One of the greatest moments of Kalil's life was when he became a naturalized citizen on November 7, 1983. He was a Computer Engineer and Entrepreneur until he joined Mississippi State Department of Health Technology Infrastructure Support as a Senior Systems Administrator. He also worked as the Computer Support Administrator for the City of Baldwyn. Kalil was also devoted to his community. He was a member of the Baldwyn Beautification Committee, Baldwyn Civitan Club and Baldwyn Rotary International Club where he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a charter member of the Brice's Crossroads Museum Board. For over 30 years, he was a proud member of the Baldwyn Round Table at Houston's Discount Drugs.
Kalil is survived by Brenda, his loving wife of 40 years; four sons, Ahmed (Addie) of Tupelo, MS, Jamal (Anna Catherine) of Fulton, MS, Jared (Christine-fiancee) of Pittsburgh, PA and Austin of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Amanda Carpenter (Blake) of Baldwyn, MS and Rochelle Daher of Savannah, TN; seven grandchildren, Rhonia, Ledgin, Sidon, Lennox, Annie, Scarlett and Kalil. He is also survived by his siblings, Talal Daher of Michigan, Hala, Dalal, Rania and Jalal of Sidon, Lebanon and Nahed Shalha of Denmark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ahmed and Zahia Daher and brother, Helil Daher.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 2-4 pm in the chapel of Kesler Funeral Home in Baldwyn. A private family service will follow.
