Joy Lane (Bonds) Massey

Joy Lane Bonds Massey (86) passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at her home in Rienzi. She was of Church of Christ faith. She enjoyed babysitting, taking care of her plants, being a homemaker and spending time with her family.

Services are 3 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Bullock and Bro. Ronnie Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Joy is survived by her husband of 61 years, David W. Massey; her daughters, Mitzi Potts of Holts Spur and Christi Counce of Biggersville; her brother-in-law, Tommy Massey (Brenda) of Gaston; her granddaughter, Alexandria Counce; her special grandchildren, Kayson Hill and Chaley Brewer; her nieces, Kellie Shadburn and Angileh Chase; her nephews, William Wilemon, Ricky Wilemon and Brandon Massey and a host of cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxie & Gertrude Bonds; her sister, Johnnie Bonds; her son-in-law, Ronnie Potts her sister-in-law, Ruby Wilemon and her in-laws, JW & Gladys Massey.

Pallbearers are Chris Shadburn, Elijah Shadburn, Wesley Shadburn, William Shadburn, Brandon Massey and Kayson Hill.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Black, Tony Barnes, Ricky Barnes, Roger Shadburn, Chad Potts, Doug Johnson, Randy Hill, Billy Wilemon and Ricky Wilemon.
