Johnny O'Neal Vanderford (81) passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at his home in Burnsville. He was a member of Rowland Mills Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming with his dad and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working in the drywall business.
Services are 1 pm Friday, August 2, 2024 at Rowland Mills Baptist Church with Bro. Franky Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowland Mills Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 and will go until service time Friday at the church.
Johnny is survived by his daughters, Linda Roberts and Carolyn Stricklin; his grandchildren, Jonathon Roberts (Katie), Kayla Simmons (Logan) and Kristen Jones (Kaynon); his great grandchildren, Dalton Jones, Emmie Roberts and Hudson Roberts; his brother-in-law, Franky Smith; his sister-in-law, Ava Vanderford and his nieces and nephews, Gogie Goodson, Marty Vanderford, Donna Adams, Lisa Ramsey, Berenda Vance, Anna Dillard, Tommy Rice, Bobby Rice, Debra Kirk, Cheryl Poindexter and Leroy Calton.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ollie Faye Vanderford; his parents, Milton and Martha Vanderford; his brother, Jimmy Vanderford; his in-laws, Clyde and Mary Calton and an infant twin brother.
Pallbearers are Brian Ramsey, Stephen Adams, Doyle Holland, Kaynon Jones, Logan Simmons, Gary Potts and Jay Potts.
Honorary pallbearers are Billy Joe Taylor, Jimmy Harold Calton, Donnie Calton, Lamar Skinner, Harold Skinner and Mark Wilson.
