Johnnie Ray Balentine

Johnnie Ray Balentine (67) passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at his sisters home in Saltillo after a short illness.

Jonnie was born January 26, 1957 in Florence, AL to Garrett Wayne Balentine and Eldredge Elizabeth Heupel. He was a roofer by trade for the entirety of his life. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing.

He is survived by his two brothers, Junior Balentine (Faye) of Florence, AL and Calvin Balentine (Joyce) of Florence, AL; his six sisters, Mildred Phillips (Billy) of Florence, AL, Faye Liles (David) of Florence, AL, Joyce Skelton of Florence, AL, Tammy Melson (James) of Booneville, Cecilia Melson of Saltillo and Katherine Newton of Florence, AL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett Balentine & Elizabeth Carter; his brother, Carl Balentine; his sisters, Linda Dodd and Joan Balentine and his brother-in-law, Tommy Dodd.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Florence, AL.
