Joe Dent

Joe Dent (97) passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Baldwyn Nursing Facility. He served 12 years in the Army and was a WWII and Korean War veteran. He was a member of Fourth St. Baptist Church in Helena, AR where he got baptized at the age of 91. He owned and operated a mobile home park in West Helena, AR. Joe was an avid golfer and played well into his 80's. At the age of 75 he ran a marathon and finished in the top 50 of 120 contestants. He also loved to play cards with his friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathlyn Shaw of CA; his brother, Deke Dent of CA; his sister, Mary Kay Dent of CA; his niece, Sharon Kay Hutchison of OR; his nephew, Paul Dent of Booneville and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Quinton & Mildred Dent; his first wife, Beatrice Dent; his second wife, Mary Lee Dent; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
