Jo Mauveline Johnson

Jo Mauveline Johnson (86) passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Longwood Nursing Facility in Booneville. She was of Church of God faith. She enjoyed playing the piano in church, serving with her husband in ministry, cooking, serving others and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Services are 2 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Rev. James Strange and Rev. Kevin Balius officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Tuesday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Jo is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen Lee Johnson of Booneville; her sons, Bruce Allen Johnson (Penny) of Tupelo and Matthew Lee Johnson (Jennie) of Booneville; her daughter, Amelia Rose Johnson of Booneville; her sister, Jane Gambill (the late Rev. Robert Gambill) of Gulfport; her grandchildren, Joshua Johnson (Heather) of Mims, FL, Ashton Johnson (Brianna) of Booneville, Carter Johnson (Katelynn) of Booneville, Jon-Luke Johnson of Booneville, Emma Hester (Wesley) of Booneville, Zach Johnson of Booneville and her great-grandsons, Charlie and River Johnson of Booneville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Sadie Peak.

Pallbearers are Joshua Johnson, Ashton Johnson, Carter Johnson, Jon-Luke Johnson, Zach Johnson and Wesley Hester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the Wheeler Church of God.
