Jo Ann Berry Aston

Jo Ann Berry Aston (86) passed away on August 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, sass, and love that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on February 8, 1939, in Port Arthur, TX, Jo Ann lived a full and colorful life, never afraid to speak her mind or tell it like it was. She was a master seamstress who spent years in the garment industry, creating beautiful pieces. She shared her talents with friends, family, and her beloved "Crafter's Club". Even in her later years, she kept moving-- working out at cardio rehab and proving that age was no match for her determination.

She was sassy, feisty, and strong-- a woman who could make you laugh one minute and set you straight the next.

Jo Ann is survived by her children: Ronda Upton (Dennis), Paul Aston, Judy Brewer (Ron), Peggy Wright (Mike), Gail Michael (Kenneth), and L.V. Swanson, Jr and her daughter-in-law, Pamela Aston. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, too many great-grandchildren to count, and a handful of great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nedium and Ona Belle Berry; her siblings, Thomas Berry, Yvonne Wilson, Wanda Dunham, Myrtle Bellow, and Elizabeth Bellue; her son, Michael Aston; her grandson, Buron Bennett and her husband, Earl Buron Aston.

Services are 10 am Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Cemetery in Randolph, MS. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, August 15, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Andrew Michael, Kris Witcher, Justin Michael, Matthew Aston, Anthony Upton and James Boutwell.
