James Michael (Mike) Timbes, 72, passed quietly from this life on December 5, 2024 from his earthly home in Booneville, MS. Mike was born to James and Maxine Timbes on June 4, 1952 in Humboldt, TN, and spent his growing up years in Tishomingo and Belmont. He graduated from Belmont High school and attended Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, TN and Northeast Ms Community College in Booneville studying Business and Culinary Arts. Mike spent his life in the food service industry and was retired Dietary Manager from Longwood Community Living Center
Mike was a member of the Booneville church of Christ having served as Deacon and long time song leader. He was active in helping get the Lads to Leaders program started in the church at Booneville heading up Boys song leading classes and also the Bartimaeus Event for special needs children.
Services are 2 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Booneville Church of Christ with Bro. Doug Smith and Bro. Ken Forrest officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Booneville Church of Christ.
Mike is survived by his wife of 49.5 years, Jimmie Archer Timbes, daughter Carrie Waddell (Alex) of Chattanooga, TN, son, Jonathan Timbes (Nicole) of Booneville, grandsons: Hunter, James and Dakota Timbes and two precious babies already in Heaven. His sister, Susan Bridges (Jerry) of SpringHill, TN, sister-in-law, Gloria Green (Danny) of Southaven, brother-in-law, Harold Oden of Corinth, MS, a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and his special angel caregiver Michelle Floyd.
He was proceeded in death by his parents James and Maxine Timbes and in laws Jim and Erma Archer all of Booneville and sister-in-law, Marcia Oden of Jackson, MS.
The Family would like to thank you all for the amazing outpouring of love over the past five years and especially in the past few of days. We love each one of you and covet your prayers while we find our new normal.
