James A. Prentiss, Jr.

James A. Prentiss, Jr. (64) passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Diversicare in Tupelo. He was a member of Booneville Church of Christ. He was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar, cheering for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services are 1 pm Thursday, October 9, 2025 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 Thursday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

James is survived by his sons, Chris Prentiss of Cullman, AL and Matthew Prentiss (Kristina) of Tupelo; his brother, Alan Prentiss (Angie) of Booneville; his sister, Malinda Prentiss of Booneville; his grandchildren, Lanah, Alyssa, Carson, Jackson, Addison & Shelby Prentiss and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Prentiss, Sr.; his mother, Lylia Henry Prentiss and the mother of his children, Tammy Prentiss.
