Farming Rural 13

Jacky Wayne Perrigo

January 23, 1957 ~ September 15, 2023 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Obituary

Jacky Wayne Perrigo, 66, was born on January 23, 1957 to Herschel and Christine Hughes Perrigo. He lived his entire life on the same farm in his beloved Pisgah Community. Jacky was a member of Pisgah Community Church. He worked at ITT and then was a truck driver for Smart Brothers and SAIA Motor Freight for 20 years before becoming disabled. However, his true love was farming, having learned to love tractors and hard work at a very young age by working at Perrigo's Fertilizer store and with his uncles, the Hughes Brothers.
Jacky was a 1975 graduate of Jumpertown High School. Always a sports fan, he played on local teams after work for many years. He was an Ole Miss Rebel follower and an avid baseball lover. Going to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play was a yearly vacation.
He married his sweetheart, Mary Sue Smart, June 4, 1976. Jacky's life was lovingly changed when Justin was born in 1980. Jacky relished his new role as father and the love and pride just doubled when Coy was born in 1985. Jacky was never happier or more satisfied than when he was playing or hunting with his boys. His favorite job of all was being the entire pit crew for Justin and Coy's drag racing. They all shared a love for Mustangs and Fords and each other. Although he suffered his greatest loss with the death of Justin on 9/19/18, Jacky remained Coy's greatest supporter.
Whatever cap (not hat, it had to be a CAP) he wore - son, brother, friend, cousin, uncle, father and husband - he devoted his whole heart to being the best he could possibly be.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Sue Smart Perrigo; son Coy Evan Perrigo; brothers, Don (Judith) Perrigo and Rocky (Felesha) Perrigo; sister Anita Perrigo (Mike) Gardner; daughter-in-law Molly Roy Perrigo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son Justin Paul Perrigo; parents Herschel and Christine Perrigo; brother William Hughes Perrigo; sister Paulette Perrigo Sims; nephew Bric Turner; brother-in-law Bud Sims; brother-in-law Bobby Smart; sister-in-law Janice Smart.
