Gerald Carpenter

Gerald Carpenter (87) passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was ordained as a minister at Maranatha Independent Baptist Church and also served as a minister for the United Methodist Association. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and after retiring from the ministry he became a member of Good News Community Church. He worked in the jewelry department at JC Penny for 20 years. He enjoyed watching football and westerns, reading his bible and working in retail.

Services are 3 pm Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Rev. Cody Bullock and Lauren Kitchens Steward officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Blackland Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Sunday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rosemary Yates Carpenter of Tupelo; his daughter, Christi Carpenter Turnley (Mark) of Prosper, TX; his bonus children, Donna Copeland Aldridge (Dwayne) of Tupelo, Brian Copeland (Deanna) of Booneville and Delta Lambert of Tupelo; his brothers, Paul Carpenter (Betty) of West Point and Van Carpenter of Jackson; his sister, Judy Wood of Jackson; the mother of his children, Marty Carpenter of Prosper, TX; his grandchildren, Misty Scott, Amanda McElyea, Alex Williams, Cody Bullock (Bethany), Cayse Copeland (Bre), Michael Smith, Kristin Copeland, Hampton Adair and Cannon Lambert and his great grandchildren, Madison, Jaden, Reagan, Tezzi, Trevan, Waylon, Esther, Averie, Benjamin, Josiah and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tye Carpenter; his daughter, Stephanie Williams; his mother, Lenora "Tedo" Carpenter and his father, Noonan Carpenter.

Pallbearers are Cayse Copeland, Mark Turnley, Hampton Adair, Greg Carpenter, Alex Williams and Richard Warren.
