Frankie Wayne Yates (62) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at approximately 1:53 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was surrounded by his children, their mother Jacqui, and his beloved cousin Elizabeth.
Born and raised in Mississippi, Frankie was a hardworking man who spent his life on the road as an over-the-road (OTR) truck driver. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and willingness to help others. He was a veteran of the National Guard. In his younger years, Frankie found joy in the thrill of NASCAR, the freedom of riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and the camaraderie of playing softball with friends.
Services are 1 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. David Krech and Bro. Rex Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Jumpertown Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-1 Wednesday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Frankie is survived by his loving children, Wesley Frank Yates of Lexington, TN and Charles Landon Yates of Gulfport, MS; his grandchildren, Cameron Wilemon and Kingston Wilemon of Huntsville, AL; his mother, Patricia Ann Tedford Yates; his brothers, Herbert Cullen Yates and Steven Allen Yates; as well as many nieces, a nephew, a great-niece and a great-nephew who all held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Millard Wayne Yates; his paternal grandparents, Cullen & Lucille Yates and his maternal grandparents, Percy & Minnie Tedford.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Cook, Chris Thweatt, Jeff Evans, Max Yates, Tim Franks, Gerald James, Jerry Jones and Drew Yates.
Frankie's life will be remembered for the roads he traveled, the stories he shared, and the family who loved him deeply. His legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched.
