Christine Cole Meeks Obituary

Christine Cole Meeks (77) was born on Sunday, July 15, 1946 in Booneville, MS and concluded life peacefully at home in prayer with her dedicated husband and kindred soul, Johnny N. Meeks of Ripley, on Thursday, March 28, 2024 concluding a chronic illness. "Chris" met Johnny at the skating rink in Booneville and wed shortly after on August 27, 1965. 58 years later, their marriage is a testament to faith and devotion that leaves a lasting impression on those favored to observe. Chris was a long time member of Victory Chapel Church and a steadfast servant of God. Retired from Parker-Hannifin Manufacturing, Chris enjoyed fishing, shopping, traveling and every chance to consort with her siblings, whether in person or by phone. She was a friend to animals, caring for many over the years and encouraging kindness in our world. Chris was the doting mother to one son with whom she shared an unconditional fetter.

Chris was one of 12 siblings born to and preceded in death by Guy and Cleo Cole. Also preceding in death are two brothers, Billy and Eddie Wayne Cole; two sisters, Betty Cole and Patsy Hamlin and one infant sibling.

She is survived by her spouse, Johnny Meeks; her son, John David Meeks (Mindy); her grandchildren, Mason Darling, Elsie Darling and Braden Fender; her brother, Terry Cole (Linda); her sisters, Brenda Bishop (Charlie), Debra Campbell (Tony), Shelia Strange, Jackie King and Lisa Johnson (Clifford) and many more in her cherished church family and community.

Services are 12 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Golden Hill Church Cemetery in Ripley. Visitation will be 10-12 Saturday in the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Mason Darling, Braden Fender, Morgan Johnson, Timmy Meeks, Alan Connely, Jeff Hill and Ryan Dees.

A special thanks for an overwhelming wave of support from our community as well as Dr. L. Dennis and Gentiva Hospice Staff, Chris McAllister, and Kesler Funeral Home, all of whom made a heavy season considerably lighter.
