Cecil Wade Pannell

Cecil Wade Pannell (82) passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born June 16, 1943 to the late William & Irene Pannell. He graduated from Okolona High School and attended Itawamba Junior College and then Mississippi State University. He worked many years in management for Jr. Food Mart, Piggly Wiggly and later retired from Food Giant. After retirement, he went to work at Scruggs where he made many friends.

Cecil was a member of Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church family. He  was the happiest when he was helping others.

Services are 1:30 pm Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Kizzer officiating.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Norma Jean Herring Pannell; his son, Jeff and wife Mandy; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn & Kaeleigh; his step-children, Chris Herring & Amanda Teem and his brothers, Harold & Charles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James.
