Betty Elizabeth "Sissy" McGill Rowan (76) passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was as member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She worked at Rockwell/Delta for 36 years and then worked at Scruggs for 10+ years. She was a rock for her family. She was the most hardworking person you would know. She was always taking care of everyone, especially her husband, Jimmy. She was always so giving to everyone too. She also loved to shop and mow her yard. Her biggest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren and her special cat, Goldie.
Services are 12 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Chris McCluskey and Bro. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-12 Tuesday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, James M. "Jimmy" Rowan; her son, Jeffrey M. "Spanky" Rowan (Rebecca); her brother, Douglas McGill (Charlene); her grandchildren, Morgan Ragin (Demtrius), Hilary Hall (Levi) and Autumn Rowan; her great grandchildren, Jaidyn Garner, Ensley Ragin, Bryleigh Hall, Ayden Hall and Hazel Hall; her nieces, Angelia Roberts (Mark), Sandy Cox (Shane) and Christie McGill Morgan (Michael); her nephew, Derek Pridmore (Rhonda); her great nieces, Alivia Hurst (Michael) and Landyn Cunningham (Michael); her great nephews, Ty Cox (Madison), Luke Roberts, Jonathan Pridmore (Jennifer) and Zachary Pridmore and a host of great great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis & Ehteline McGill and her sister, Jean Hall.
Pallbearers are Mark Roberts, Levi Hall, Demtrius Ragin, Derek Pridmore, Phil Bramlett and Bryan Cooper.
