Paul Roper

Paul Roper (80) passed away Sunday, October, 6, 2019 at his home in Guntown. He was born April 16, 1939 to Dillard and Lynn Roper. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work and ministering to people. He was a preacher for over 40 years. Services will be 3 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. James Harris officiating. Visitation will be 1-3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pratts Cemetery. Paul is survived by his loving wife for over 60 years, Shirley H. Roper; his sons, Donald Roper, Cleveland Roper and Tony Roper; his daughter, Cindy Scott (Sammy); his sister, Elsie Hill; his grandchildren, Samuel Scott (Brittany), April Warren (Nathan), Holley Scott, Phillip Roper (CJ), Betty Voss, Tonya Roper and Nathan Gunnells; 10 great-grandchildren; his caregivers, Zonia and Kevin Glass; his brothers-in-law, Lamar Harris (Margie) and Junior Harris and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carl Roper and his sisters, Vergie Hester and Jewel Smith. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are, Kevin Deatherage, Allen Frances, Brandon Grant, Gary Hill and David Brown. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for everything that they did.
